Conscious Kitchen

Conscious Kitchen, a program of Turning Green, partners with schools and communities to provide fresh, local, organic, seasonal, and nutritious meals to students every day. By transforming school food systems, we advance health, equity, and climate resilience while supporting small and mid-sized organic farmers across California.

Funding purpose: Continue building on the successes of the small organic farmers in the Central Coast who are supplying fresh, local, organic produce to school districts weekly and expand this network to increase the supply and meet new demand. Funds are used for CK operations to support our network of farmers in the Central Coast through workshops focused on business and administrative skills, determining fair pricing for their goods, and creating consistent and reliable supply chains so that the caretakers of our food/land can thrive.
