GATHER of Brown Rice Bakery

Brown Rice Bakery (BRB) is a local cottage bakery offering delicious gluten free and vegan baked goods and treats made with high-quality, often organic ingredients. BRB is committed to growing and supporting community, promoting health (in many different ways), practicing sustainability and creating JOY through food!

Funding purpose: Supporting GATHER, a monthly popup dinner series featuring rotating guest chefs at a locally-owned plant shop in Sacramento. The series specifically highlights Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), queer (LGBTQ+) and other under- and mis-represented chefs and food artists to showcase their culinary creativity, foodways, and culture through curated dining experiences. Each month, chefs & organizers work with local farmers, producers, beverage makers & nonprofit beneficiaries, setting the table for meaningful connections between farmers, chefs & eaters.
