Western Landowners Alliance

Western Landowners Alliance was founded by western landowners to advance policies and practices that sustain working lands, connected landscapes and native species. They envision a future in which private and leased public lands and waters in the West are healthy and resilient to environmental and developmental stressors. WLA believes healthy lands and water resource are the foundation for prosperous rural economies.

WLA has partnered with Montana State University’s (MSU) graduate program in Science & Natural History Filmmaking to tell the story of land stewardship through the WLA Stewardship with Vision series. Funding from the Globetrotter Foundation supported the production of the 7th episode about George Whitten and Julie Sullivan’s stewardship work on the San Juan Ranch (San Luis Valley, CO) to promote ground zero drought management, healthy living soil and a commitment to the next generation.
