Sustainable Conservation

Sustainable Conservation advances the collaborative stewardship of California’s land, air, and water for the benefit of nature and people.

Funding purpose: Help California growers adopt practices that improve soils’ inherent functions of infiltration, water retention, and nutrient cycling—which can yield multiple benefits for the agricultural economy, regional water quality, and community health outcomes. Funds are used specifically to increase collaboration and information-sharing among diverse groups of growers, researchers, technical assistance providers, policymakers, supply chains, and others—ultimately in pursuit of driving policy and regulations that catalyze widespread adoption of these practices across California which will be essential as we adapt to the state’s increasingly changing climate.
