People’s Food and Farm Project

The People’s Food and Farm Project seeks to address the fractures and inequities in the Bay Area food system by building a vision for what a socially just, environmentally sustainable, and economically thriving food system that centers the voices, dreams, and wisdom of workers and BIPOC communities.

Funding purpose: The People’s Food and Farm Project is building a participatory, community-led process towards food sovereignty. We seek to create a public funding mechanism and establish a regional governmental entity for the food ecosystem that will be accountable to Bay Area residents. Funds will support our next phase of coalition building, storytelling, power-building and legislative work to realize a collective vision for Bay Area food sovereignty.
