Conscious Kitchen
Conscious Kitchen, a program of Turning Green, transforms school food systems by expanding access to organic, locally sourced, and sustainable foods. The program connects local organic farmers and vendors with school food services and offers strategies and hands-on support to increase local organic school food procurement.
Funding purpose: Continue building on the successes of the small organic farmers in the Central Coast who are supplying fresh, local, organic produce to school districts weekly and expand this network to increase the supply and meet new demand. Funds are used for CK operations to support our network of farmers in the Central Coast through workshops focused on business and administrative skills, determining fair pricing for their goods, and creating consistent and reliable supply chains so that the caretakers of our food/land can thrive.
