Asociación de Gente Unida por el Agua (AGUA)

“Formed in February 2006, Asociación de Gente Unida por el Agua (AGUA) is a grassroots coalition of 390 members and supporters from 35 low-income and people of color communities, including youth, private well owners from nearby communities, 13 community-based organizations and 13 nonprofit allies, dedicated to securing safe, clean and affordable drinking water in California’s San Joaquin Valley and Central Coast. We work to clean up existing pollution, and prevent water from further contamination.”

Funding purpose: Supporting AGUA’s grassroots campaigns to advance clean, safe, and affordable drinking water: Movement Building, Safe and Affordable Drinking Water, Groundwater Protection, and PFAS and Chrome 6 Contaminant Regulation. They utilize five primary strategies within our campaigns: awareness building; leadership development; community organizing; advocacy; and watchdog monitoring.
