Asociación de Gente Unida por el Agua (AGUA)
Formed in 2006, AGUA (la Asociación de Gente Unida por el Agua, or the Association of People United for Water) is a regional, grassroots coalition of impacted community residents and allied nonprofit organizations dedicated to securing safe, clean, and affordable drinking water for San Joaquin Valley and Central Coast communities. We work to clean up existing pollution, and prevent further contamination of our drinking water.
Funding purpose: Supporting AGUA’s grassroots campaigns to advance clean, safe, and affordable drinking water: Movement Building, Safe and Affordable Drinking Water, Groundwater Protection, and PFAS and Chrome 6 Contaminant Regulation. They utilize five primary strategies within our campaigns: awareness building; leadership development; community organizing; advocacy; and watchdog monitoring.
