The Savanna Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit research and education organization working to catalyze the development and adoption of resilient, scalable agroforestry in the Midwest US. They work in collaboration with farmers and scientists to develop perennial food and fodder crops within ecological, climate change-mitigating agricultural systems.
Funding has supported their work in transforming Midwest agriculture using multifunctional agroforestry, including the work of two full-time staff members working on research and education around the development of tree crops, agroforestry systems, and perennial crop stakeholders.
