National Healthy Soils Policy Network / CalCAN

The National Healthy Soils Policy Network (NHSPN), a project of CalCAN, is a group of farmer-centered organizations that advocate for state and federal policies and share models, lessons learned and strategies related to policies that incentivize agricultural practices with climate benefits–particularly those that build healthy soils.

There are 20 farmer and rancher organizations in the Network from 17 states. Funding is used to provide mini-grants that bring farmer voices and influence to bear on state healthy soil policies, to coordinate strategies regionally in geographic hubs, and to connect farmer advocates with progressive legislator champions of soil health.
